Official name : Type 42 electric train with a control device.
This train is running mainly in Onoda-Line (Ube Station - Shinkawa Station / 4 miles) and Motoyama-Line (Suzumeda Station - Nagamon Motoyama Station / 1.4miles).
Now , this car is a rare old type train in Japan.

History of KUMOHA42
- (1)1933-1950:
- KUMOHA42 was built in 1933 and took an active part in Oosaka area.
- (2)1950-1957:
- KUMOHA42 moved from Osaka to Tokyo in 1950 and had a very lively time in metropolitan area.
- (3)1957-1981:
- KUMOHA42 moved from Tokyo to Ymaguchi because of new type electric train appeared and was used mainly in local line in Yamaguchi area with TYPE51 , TYPE41 and TYPE55.
- (4)1956-:
- Type 105 which was new type train was used mainly in Yamaguchi , so TYPE51 , TYPE41 and TYPE55 were scrapped.
But KUMOHA42 has two motorman's sheets , so it is used in Motoyama-Line.
- (5)1996 now:
- There are only two cars in Japan.
